# How to Queue Overnight Batch Demo Videos in DemoVexa

Queue overnight batch demo videos from the Projects creation list in DemoVexa. Set formats, scene plans and schedule, then review renders in the morning.

## Key takeaways

- Start overnight batches from the Projects creation list (right column), not from the CLI.
- Choose Approve automatically for unattended overnight runs; choose Wait for me if you want to check each scene plan.
- Leave the laptop lid open; closing the lid still sleeps the machine even though DemoVexa tries to keep it awake.
- Closing the DemoVexa window does not stop a running batch; check Activity for running and scheduled batches.
- Trial does not include batch builds; Solo allows up to 5 videos per batch, Team up to 25, Agency unlimited.

Overnight batch demo videos in DemoVexa are several product videos built from your Projects creation list while you are away: each item runs project, brief, script, voiceover, build, renders, posts and covers. You start the batch from Projects (tick ideas, click Build N, or Add to batch on a card), choose Start now or Schedule overnight, and review finished items in the morning. The full option list and plan limits live in the [batch builds docs](https://demovexa.com/docs/more/batch-builds).

## What are overnight batch demo videos?

They are the same DemoVexa build path you would run by hand, applied to several ideas in one go and timed for when you are offline. A batch walks each selected idea through create project, brief, script, voiceover, scene planning, build, render, posts and covers. You can start that work now, or schedule it for Tonight, 1:00 AM or a time you pick.

This is useful when you have a stack of feature demos, launch cuts or update videos waiting in the creation list and you do not want to sit through each Animate and Export pass. Queue them overnight, then open the finished projects on Export in the morning.

Overnight batch product demo videos are not a separate product mode. They are batch builds with When set to a later time. The docs page [Batch builds](https://demovexa.com/docs/more/batch-builds) is the source of truth for options and plan limits.

## How do you start an overnight batch from Projects?

You start batches from the creation list in the right-hand column of the Projects page. Ideas feed that list; see [Ideas](https://demovexa.com/docs/more/ideas) if you need to add more first.

### 1. Pick the ideas

Go to Projects. In the creation list, tick the ideas you want to build. Click Build N. The batch dialog opens with an estimate of how long the batch will take.

You can also add a project that has not been built yet: on its card, click Add to batch.

### 2. Set When for overnight

In the batch dialog, set When to Tonight, 1:00 AM or Pick a time. Then click Schedule. If you only need the same options but want to start immediately, choose Now and Start now instead.

### 3. Choose formats and finish options

Formats: Reel 9:16, Landscape 16:9 and Square 1:1. Turn on Render every format when you want each video in all of its selected formats. Turn on Write the posts and Make the covers when you want those assets ready with the renders.

For a morning review that already includes social copy and covers, leave posts and covers on. If you only need the MP4s overnight, you can turn those off and finish Publish later; Publish details are in the [Publish docs](https://demovexa.com/docs/videos/publish).

### 4. Scene plans: Approve automatically vs Wait for me

Scene plans have two choices:

- Approve automatically: builds start straight after Claude plans the scenes. Use this for a batch that runs unattended overnight.
- Wait for me: the batch pauses so you can review each plan. Use this when you will check plans before Claude spends time building.

For overnight batch demo videos, Approve automatically is the usual choice. If you pick Wait for me and then go to sleep, those items will sit waiting for you.

## What happens while the overnight batch runs?

For each idea, the batch runs the same steps you would by hand: create the project, write brief and script, generate voiceover, plan scenes (then wait if you chose Wait for me), build the video, render formats, write posts and make covers.

If a build fails, the batch runs one repair attempt. Each item also gets one automatic retry.

Event recaps stop after the voiceover because they need your photos and clips. Open those projects in the morning, add media and finish them. Do not expect a full overnight finish for event recaps.

While a batch is making a video, that project's page is view-only. A bar at the top shows the step and progress (Show steps for details). You can look at what it has made so far as it refreshes, but you cannot edit or delete until the batch finishes that item. Then the page opens on the Export step with the finished video.

## How do you follow, reorder or cancel a batch?

A batch card on the Projects page shows status:

- Batch running: working through items
- Batch: N waiting for you: items need you, usually to approve a scene plan
- Batch finished: every item is done or has stopped

On the card you can cancel the batch, move waiting videos up or down with the arrows (the one being made stays put), remove a video that is not being made, retry a failed item, Review plan, or Approve & finish to approve a plan and let the batch build, render and finish that item.

The Activity page also lists running and scheduled batches with their progress. Check it in the morning if you are not sure whether the overnight schedule fired.

## Will my computer stay awake for overnight batch demo videos?

While a batch runs, DemoVexa keeps your computer from going to sleep. It stops doing so when the batch ends.

Closing a laptop's lid still puts it to sleep, and a batch cannot run while the computer sleeps. For an overnight batch, leave the lid open and check your sleep settings. If a batch did not run overnight, the computer most likely went to sleep.

Builds, renders and batches that are already running keep going if you close DemoVexa's window. You do not need to leave the window open for the work to continue; you do need the machine awake.

## What are the plan limits for batch builds?

| Plan | Batch builds |
| --- | --- |
| Trial | Not included |
| Solo | Up to 5 videos per batch |
| Team | Up to 25 videos per batch |
| Agency | Unlimited |

See [pricing](https://demovexa.com/pricing) for plan details. If you are on Trial, upgrade before you rely on overnight queues.

## How does this fit with release day and the CLI?

If several features need videos for the same ship, queue overnight batch demo videos the night before release, then pick up Export and Publish in the morning. That pairs with the [release demo video workflow](https://demovexa.com/blog/release-demo-video-workflow). When a UI change is the only reason to rebuild, use the [UI change update guide](https://demovexa.com/blog/update-product-demo-video-ui-change) for a single project instead of a full overnight batch.

The CLI can drive other DemoVexa work from the terminal, but batches start from the Projects page. Do not look for an overnight batch start in the CLI; see the [product demo video CLI guide](https://demovexa.com/blog/product-demo-video-cli) for what the CLI does cover.

DemoVexa is a desktop app on macOS, Windows and Linux. Install from the [download page](https://demovexa.com/download) or start from the [docs](https://demovexa.com/docs). The [features](https://demovexa.com/features) and [why DemoVexa](https://demovexa.com/why-demovexa) pages describe the product; PitchWitch Ventures LLC (Delaware, USA) is the company behind DemoVexa.

## FAQ

### Can I start overnight batch demo videos from the CLI?

No. Batches start from the Projects page: creation list, Build N, or Add to batch on a project card. The CLI covers other DemoVexa workflows; overnight scheduling and batch options live in the Projects batch dialog.

### Should I choose Approve automatically or Wait for me overnight?

Choose Approve automatically for an unattended overnight batch so scene plans do not pause the queue. Choose Wait for me when you will review each plan before build. If you leave Wait for me on and go to sleep, items will wait for your approval.

### What if my overnight batch did not run?

Check whether the computer went to sleep. Closing the lid still sleeps the machine even though DemoVexa tries to keep it awake during a batch. Leave the lid open, confirm sleep settings, and look at Activity for scheduled or failed batches. You can also retry failed items from the batch card.

### Do event recaps finish in an overnight batch?

No. Event recaps stop after the voiceover because they need your photos and clips. Open those projects after the batch, add media and finish them by hand.

### How many videos can I put in one overnight batch?

Trial does not include batch builds. Solo allows up to 5 videos per batch, Team up to 25, and Agency is unlimited. Size the overnight queue to your plan before you Schedule.
