# Languages

> Make videos in any of 31 languages, choose where the language is set, and pick a native voice for the voiceover.

DemoVexa makes videos in 31 languages. Claude writes the voiceover, captions, cards, posts and blog in the language you choose, and ElevenLabs voices it with a native speaker where one is available.

## Supported languages

| | | | |
|---|---|---|---|
| English | Hindi | Spanish | French |
| German | Portuguese | Italian | Dutch |
| Polish | Swedish | Danish | Norwegian |
| Finnish | Turkish | Russian | Ukrainian |
| Arabic | Japanese | Korean | Chinese (Mandarin) |
| Indonesian | Malay | Vietnamese | Filipino |
| Tamil | Bengali | Urdu | Greek |
| Czech | Romanian | Hungarian | |

All 31 languages are available on every plan.

## Where to set the language

The language is set in three places. Each one starts from the one before it.

| Where | What it does |
|---|---|
| **Workspace settings → General → Video language** | The default for new videos in the workspace |
| **New project → Language** | The language of this project when you create it. It starts as the workspace's language. |
| **Brief → Language** | Change the language of an existing project |

To make one video in another language, change it in the new project dialog or in the project's brief. Your workspace's default stays as it is.

## What gets translated

| Translated | Stays as it is |
|---|---|
| Spoken voiceover lines | Your product name |
| On-screen captions | Module names |
| Title and end cards | Labels on your app's screens |
| Posts and the blog post | |
| Cover headlines | |

App labels stay as they are because the video shows your real app.

> [!TIP]
> Set the language before Claude writes the brief and script, so everything is written in it from the start.

## Native voices

For a language other than English, DemoVexa picks a voice that speaks it. On the **Voice** step, native voices are listed first, with a badge such as **Native Spanish** or **Speaks Spanish**.

### How the voice is chosen

When no voice has been picked for the project, DemoVexa looks in this order:

1. The workspace's saved voice for that language.
2. A voice on your ElevenLabs account whose language matches.
3. When you generate the voiceover with no voice chosen: the most-used native narrator for that language in the ElevenLabs Voice Library, preferring explainer and educational voices. It's added to your ElevenLabs account and remembered as the workspace's voice for that language.

You can always pick a different voice.

### Find a voice in the Voice Library

1. On the **Voice** step, click **Find native … voices** (for example, **Find native Spanish voices**).
2. Browse the ElevenLabs narrators. The most used are listed first.
3. Play a sample of any voice.
4. Click **Add & use** on the one you want.

The voice is added to your ElevenLabs account and becomes the workspace's voice for that language, so your next videos in that language use it too.

DemoVexa may also suggest a voice with a **Use** button that names it. Click it to switch to that voice.

> [!WARNING]
> Adding a voice uses a voice slot on your ElevenLabs plan. If you see "Your ElevenLabs plan has no free voice slots", remove a voice on elevenlabs.io (My Voices) or upgrade, then try again.

### Change the voice

1. On the **Voice** step, pick another voice from the **ElevenLabs voices** list. Use **Search accent, gender, style** to narrow it down.
2. Click **Regenerate**.

If the video is already built, go to **Animate** and click **Re-sync to the new voice** so the animation matches the new timing. See [Voice](/docs/videos/voice).
