Teams

Share your plan and your workspaces with the people you work with. Create a team, invite people, and see how syncing works.

On the Team and Agency plans you can make a team: the people in it share your plan, and the workspaces you share appear in everyone's desktop app and stay in sync. Each person works on their own computer.

#Create a team

  1. Sign in to your account at app.demovexa.com and open Team.
  2. Type a name for the team and choose Create team.

You're the team's owner. You pay for the plan and take one seat. A person can be in one team at a time.

If your plan has one seat (the free trial or Solo), the Team page explains how to upgrade instead. See Billing.

#Invite people

  1. On the Team page, type one or more email addresses under Invite by email (separate them with commas).
  2. Pick a role, Member or Admin, and choose Send invite.

Each person gets an email with a link that works for 7 days. The link opens a page that shows your team and who invited them. They sign in, or create an account, with the email address you invited, then choose Join. You get an email when someone joins.

Every open invite holds a seat, so you can't invite more people than you have seats. Under Invites you can Resend an invite (it gets a new link and 7 more days) or Withdraw it to free the seat.

Note

Someone who pays for their own DemoVexa plan has to cancel it first under Plan & billing. Their plan then ends at the end of the period they paid for and isn't charged again, and they can join straight away. A free trial doesn't need cancelling.

#What the team shares

The plan. Videos and renders a month and the number of computers are counted for the whole team, not per person. The Overview page shows the team's numbers. Members' Plan & billing page shows the team's plan and who to ask about it.

Shared workspaces. In the desktop app, open a workspace's Settings → Sharing and share it with your team. Everything in it is synced:

  • the workspace's settings, brand, modules, voices and ideas
  • its projects: briefs, scripts, voiceovers, media, chat with Claude, the video code and finished renders

What stays on each computer:

  • API keys. Each person connects their own Claude and ElevenLabs. See Connect Claude and ElevenLabs.
  • The code folder. Each computer chooses where your app's code is. When a shared workspace first arrives on a computer, the app asks for the folder there. See Your app and docs.
  • Favourites, the step you're on in a project, and workspaces you haven't shared.

#How syncing works

  • The app syncs in the background while you're signed in and online. You don't press anything.
  • You can work offline. Your changes are kept on your computer and sync when you're back online.
  • If two people change the same thing at about the same time, the most recent change is kept. Changes to different things (one person edits the script, another adds media) are both kept.
  • When someone has a project open, the others see "Alex is working on this" and are asked before they build or render it, so two people don't overwrite each other's video. The notice goes away a few minutes after Alex closes the project.

#Shared storage

Voiceovers, media, video code and renders of shared workspaces are stored in the cloud so they can reach everyone's computers. Each file is stored once, however many projects use it. The Team page shows how much the team uses.

Files that no shared workspace or project uses any more are removed from the cloud after a day, and shared workspaces and projects you delete are removed for good after 30 days. Both stop counting towards your storage then.

When storage is full, new files can't be shared until you delete shared projects you no longer need or move to a bigger plan. Everything already on your computers keeps working.

#Leave a team

Open Team and choose Leave team. Owners can't leave; they hand the team to someone else first, or delete it.

When you leave or are removed:

  • The team's plan no longer applies to you. To keep making videos, choose a plan under Plan & billing.
  • Your desktop app stops syncing the team's workspaces. The copies already on your computer stay there as your own, unshared workspaces.
  • You get an email if someone removes you.

#Hand the team to someone else

The owner can make another person in the team the owner.

  1. On the Team page, under Transfer ownership, pick the person and choose Transfer ownership.
  2. They get an email with a link that works for 7 days. The page shows the team, the plan, its price and when it renews.
  3. They sign in with their own account and choose Accept and become owner.

Until they accept, nothing changes, and the Team page shows the offer as waiting. You can Cancel transfer, or pick someone else (the new offer replaces the old one). The offer is cancelled if that person leaves or is removed.

When they accept:

  • They become the owner, and the plan and its billing move to their account: the card on file, invoices and renewals. They can change the card under Plan & billing.
  • You stay in the team as an admin. Shared workspaces, members and computers don't change.
  • You both get an email.

Note

Someone who pays for their own DemoVexa plan has to cancel it under Plan & billing before they can take over a team. A free trial doesn't need cancelling.

#Delete a team

Only the owner can delete a team. On the Team page, type the team's name under Delete team and confirm.

This deletes the team, its invites and the shared copies in the cloud. The copies on every computer stay, as unshared workspaces, and everyone goes back to their own plan. Members are emailed. Deleting your DemoVexa account also deletes a team you own.

#If your plan gets smaller

If the plan allows fewer seats than the team has people (for example after moving from Agency to Team), the people who joined most recently become read-only: they can open and play everything, but can't make or share anything new until someone is removed or the plan grows. The Team page marks them.
