Generate the voiceover

Choose a voice, generate the voiceover with ElevenLabs, and keep it in sync with your script.

The Voice step turns your approved script into a spoken voiceover using ElevenLabs. It comes before the animation for a reason: the animation is timed to the spoken words.

#Why the voice comes first

When Claude builds an animated video, it times each cursor click, caption and screen change to the moment the narrator says the matching word. That only works once the voiceover exists, so the Animate step needs a script and an up-to-date voiceover before it can start.

#Generate the voiceover

  1. Check the current voice card at the top of the step. It shows the voice that will be used.
  2. To use a different voice, pick one from ElevenLabs voices (see below).
  3. Click Generate voiceover.

When it's done, each line of the script has its own audio, so you can listen line by line. To make it again, for example after changing the voice, click Regenerate.

When the voiceover sounds right, click Animate with Claude to go to the Animate step. For an Event Recap, the next step is Export instead.

#Choose a voice

The ElevenLabs voices list shows the voices on your ElevenLabs account, each with a sample you can play.

  • Use Search accent, gender, style to narrow the list, for example "British", "female" or "calm".
  • Click a voice to use it for this project.

If a project hasn't picked a voice, it uses the default voice from Settings → ElevenLabs → Default voice. Out of the box that's Studio default (Sia); you can change it to any of your voices.

Tip

You can also change the voice by asking. Click Ask Claude and type something like "Use a calmer female voice".

#When the voiceover is out of date

If you change the script or the voice after generating, the step shows:

"The script or voice changed… Generate again to sync."

Click Regenerate so the audio matches the current script. If the video has already been animated, re-sync it afterwards with Re-sync to the new voice in the Animate step. See Animate.

#Voices for other languages

When the video's language isn't English, DemoVexa looks for a voice that speaks it natively.

  • Native voices are listed first, with a badge such as Native Hindi or Speaks Hindi (for a Hindi video).
  • DemoVexa may suggest a voice with a Use button followed by the voice's name.
  • If none of your voices fit, click Find native Hindi voices (named after your video's language) to open the Voice Library.

DemoVexa picks a voice in this order:

  1. The voice the workspace has saved for that language.
  2. A voice on your ElevenLabs account whose language matches.
  3. If you generate without choosing a voice, the most-used native narrator from the ElevenLabs Voice Library, preferring explainer and educational voices. It's added to your ElevenLabs account and remembered for the workspace.

You can always pick another voice.

#The Voice Library

The Voice Library dialog lists ElevenLabs narrators for the language, most used first.

  1. Click a voice's play button to hear a sample.
  2. Click Add & use on the one you want.

The voice is added to your ElevenLabs account and becomes the workspace's voice for that language, so later videos in that language use it too.

Note

ElevenLabs plans have a limited number of voice slots. If yours are full, you'll see "Your ElevenLabs plan has no free voice slots. Remove a voice on elevenlabs.io (My Voices) or upgrade, then try again."

#ElevenLabs costs

The voiceover is generated with your own ElevenLabs API key, and ElevenLabs bills you directly. Settings → ElevenLabs warns you when your plan has fewer than 5,000 characters left, and the Usage page shows your live quota and reset date.
