Batch builds
Build several videos from your creation list in one go, now or overnight, and finish the ones that need you.
A batch builds several videos from your creation list in one go: project, brief, script, voiceover, build, renders, posts and covers. You can start it now or schedule it, for example overnight, and review the results in the morning.
#Start a batch
You start batches from the creation list in the right-hand column of the Projects page. To add ideas to it, see Ideas.
- Go to Projects.
- In the creation list, tick the ideas you want to build.
- Click Build N.
- Choose the options in the batch dialog (see below). The dialog shows an estimate of how long the batch will take.
- Click Start now, or Schedule if you picked a later time.
You can also add a project that hasn't been built yet: on its card, click Add to batch.
#Batch options
| Option | Choices | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| When | Now, Tonight, 1:00 AM, Pick a time | When the batch starts |
| Formats | Reel 9:16, Landscape 16:9, Square 1:1 | The formats each video is built in |
| Scene plans | Approve automatically, Wait for me | Whether builds start straight after Claude plans the scenes, or wait for you to review each plan |
| Render every format | On or off | Render each video in all of its formats |
| Write the posts | On or off | Write the social posts for each video |
| Make the covers | On or off | Make the cover images for each video |
Tip
Choose Wait for me if you want to check each scene plan before Claude spends time building. Choose Approve automatically for a batch that runs unattended overnight.
#What a batch does
For each idea, the batch runs the same steps you would by hand:
- Creates the project.
- Writes the brief and the script.
- Generates the voiceover.
- Plans the scenes, then waits for your approval if you chose Wait for me.
- Builds the video.
- Renders the formats.
- Writes the posts.
- Makes the covers.
If a build fails, the batch runs one repair attempt. Each item also gets one automatic retry.
Note
Event recaps stop after the voiceover, because they need your photos and clips. Open the project to add your media and finish it. See Event recaps.
#Follow a batch
A batch card on the Projects page shows how it's going:
| Card | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Batch running | The batch is working through its items |
| Batch: N waiting for you | N items need you, usually to approve a scene plan |
| Batch finished | Every item is done or has stopped |
On the card you can:
- Cancel the batch.
- Retry an item that failed.
- Review plan to read an item's scene plan.
- Approve & finish to approve the plan and let the batch build, render and finish that item.
The Activity page also lists running and scheduled batches with their progress.
#Keep the computer awake
While a batch runs, DemoVexa keeps your computer from going to sleep. It stops doing so when the batch ends.
Watch out
Closing a laptop's lid still puts it to sleep, and a batch can't run while the computer sleeps. For an overnight batch, leave the lid open and check your sleep settings. If a batch didn't run overnight, the computer most likely went to sleep.
Builds, renders and batches that are already running keep going if you close the launcher window.
#Batch sizes by plan
| Plan | Batch builds |
|---|---|
| Trial | Not included |

See Plans and usage.
